dawlton barn is my ‘atelier’, from the french term for artist’s workroom and studio. it has historical connotations of the ‘atelier’ method where training under a master would take place or further back to a home of an alchemist. for me it is more than a physical space to go to, to create. it is about the sharing of knowledge and practice and revealing the ordinariness and great value of the artistic process.
